Introduction.

It is coming to an end for me and my journey of being in an Immersion Bootcamp for software engineering and it has been a long ride. The experience that I have had during my time in a workforce program had some ups and downs. It’s been fun and also stressful trying to be a better software developer. I’ve realized and learned that sometimes you’re going to fail and things are not going to go your way every time. Your time to shine might not be now, might be at a later time, or soon. You may get to a point where you are rejected or declined, and that’s okay. Why? Because it doesn’t mean it’s the end for you. Do you want it? Go get it! Do you want to succeed at your goal? Get back up and try again. In this article, I will lay down some motivation and talk about how you can handle and deal with stress and failure.

Relax.

During my first time in a software engineering program, I knew I was going to have to learn a lot, and put in a lot of work in order to upgrade my skills and be the best software developer I can be. So every day, I made sure that I put in a lot of work and study as much as I can. Being in the program was the most challenging thing I had to deal with and I knew I wanted to go to the next level in the program so bad. After finishing up my first round of Bootcamp, I was not able to complete and go to the next level. I was very frustrated with myself and I let that failure get to me. After a while, I realized that I need to take a deep breath and relax. It is all about keeping your emotions in check. Don’t put more pressure on yourself. What happened is done and it’s in the past. You need to take time to cool down and be calm. What matters is how you respond to the situation. Always know that your mental health matters.

Part of life.

You have to start realizing that failure is a part of life and it happens to everyone. Everyone is not perfect, so it is okay when you fail, don’t take it too hard. While being in a software engineering program, I learned that everyone has their struggles and issues. I also heard stories of people that have been through the program being rejected and having to retake a certain phase of the program in order to succeed and finish through. Hearing those stories motivated me to keep going. So always know that failure is a part of life and that you can try achieving your goal again because practice makes perfect. Losing one battle doesn’t mean you have to lose the war.

Reasons to keep going.

It is very important to find something to motivate you and things to keep you going so you can work on your goal. Always think positive, do not think negative. Negative thoughts can bring you down and you do not want that. The more positive thinking that you do, the more confidence you gain in yourself. Believe in yourself, even when no one else does. As long as you believe in yourself, you can do anything. Always remember that someone else is also trying to achieve or goal or they already have. They also have been through some hard times and had to deal with failure and stress, but in the end, they were able to complete that goal and come out successful. If that person can do it, so can you. As long as you put your mind to it, you can come out strong.
